Union Minister V Muraleedharan on Sunday slammed Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for offering his office to people engaged in anti-national activities. He accused CM of treason for arranging a safe haven for terrorist activities calling him a traitor.
Observing a one-day fast in Delhi as part of BJP’s protest demanding the chief minister’s resignation over the recent gold smuggling case, Muraleedharan alleged that Vijayan protected perpetrators in the case.
NIA is probing the smuggling case based on the Customs report citing terror links of the accused. UAPA was imposed based on the report. Swapna Suresh, the accused in the case, was working in the space park project under state government and had opportunities to interact with top space scientists. It has to be probed what information she had obtained and how she handled it. The matter relates to national security and Chief Minister can’t escape from the responsibility, he said.
CM and speaker had said they obtained no information from Intelligence. This claim is an insult to Kerala Police. Also, CM removed Principal Secretary M Sivasankar, who is facing allegations, after 12 days. This also raises suspicion, he alleged.
Muraleedharan also slammed Minister KT Jaleel who had said that he contacted Swapna in connection with free food kits from UAE.
