The postpaid mobile services will be restored in the remaining areas of Jammuand Kashmir from 12 noon today. This was stated by J&K Principal SecretaryRohit Kansal in Srinagar.
The move comes barely days after the Centre issued an advisory opening the valley for tourists. Earlier, schools were re-opened followed by colleges and land-line phones were made fully operational.
Ahead of restoring mobile phone services, Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbagh Singh told news agencies that ‘necessary precautions shall be taken’.
According to sources, there will be strict monitoring on hate mongers and deployment of extra forces will be done at strategic locations to avoid any unlawful gathering called to disturb law and order situation in the Kashmir Valley.
