Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga has expressed his gratitude to the incumbent Governor, Advocate PS Sreedharan Pillai for donating 30% of his gross salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund “in order to strengthen our collective fight against Covid-19” for a period of six months. This is in addition to the governor’s contribution of Rs 2 lakh to the state Chief Minister’s Relief Fund initially after the outbreak of the pandemic.
It may be mentioned here that Governor Pillai had already donated Rs 5 lakh to the PM Cares Fund and Rs 2 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Besides, he has been extending his personal assistance by providing food and accommodation to those students and persons belonging to other states stranded in Mizoram.
