Maldives has put on quarantine three island resorts following symptoms of COVID-19 among three tourists.
The tourists including one from Italy and two from France have been moved to a designated isolation centre for monitoring and testing.
Another Italian tourist was tested positive after his return from Maldives trip yesterday and authorities are tracing the contacts he made during his stay.
Maldives Government has also banned entry of passengers originating and transiting Italy from tonight. Maldives attracts thousands of tourists mainly from western nations and the tourism industry is taking a hit following the COVID-19 crisis.
