The suicide case of Asmiya Mol, a young girl studying in a madrasa in Balaramapuram, Kerala, has taken a distressing twist. The postmortem report has confirmed that Asmiya was a victim of sexual abuse. Subsequently, a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case has been registered against a youth from Poonthura, who the police clarified had abused Asmiya before her arrival at the madrasa.
Asmiya Mol, hailing from Bimapalli, was residing and studying in a madrasa in Balaramapuram when she tragically took her own life. The sequence of events surrounding her death has raised concerns and cast a spotlight on the institution and its handling of the situation.
Her mother had urgently contacted Rahmat, seeking immediate assistance. However, allegations have surfaced that upon her arrival at the institution within ninety minutes, she was initially denied access to her daughter. Disturbingly, it was only later that the authorities informed the relatives about Asmiya’s suicide.
Following Asmiya’s death, her relatives leveled serious allegations against the Al Aman Charitable Trust, the organization responsible for overseeing the madrasa in Balaramapuram. They claimed that the institution’s environment had subjected Asmiya to mental torture, ultimately leading to her tragic decision. The shocking revelations regarding sexual abuse have only added to the gravity of the case.
