In a major setback to Pinarayi Vijayan led Kerala government, Kerala High Court today stayed the order of collecting salaries of state employees.
The High Court said that salary is the right of the employees and the same must be considered as their property. The court further said that no orders can snatch the belonging of an employee.
Government activities during the Kovid era are highly appreciated. However, the court said the rights of individuals cannot be challenged in this regard, the verdict said.
The order comes on a petition filed by opposition service organizations challenging the decision of government officials to take six days’ salary for five months.
