Veteran actor Dr. Shriram Lagoo dies of age-related ailments at his Pune residence late night on Tuesday. He was 92.
Starting his acting career from Marathi theatre, Dr. Lagoo started with acting in Marathi and Hindi films and made a place for himself there too.
Some of his most memorable roles include that of Gopal Krishna Gokhale in Richard Attenborough’s ‘Gandhi’, a simple teacher in the Marathi path-breaking movie ‘Pinjara’ and films on Maharashtra politics ‘Saamna’ and ‘Sinhasan’.
Besides these he has acted in scores of Hindi movies and established himself as an actor class apart.
