Left-wing jihadist forces launched an attack on Janam TV news team in JNU. The incident happened last night. Janam Delhi bureau Chief Gautam Ananthanarayan and cameraman Unni K Warrier were injured in the attack. The incident happened during the conflict related to the screening of a BBC documentary in the university.
A documentary screening organized by Muslim and Left student organizations at the JNU campus was halted due to power cuts. Enraged by this, the mob of Muslim and left-wing organizations launched an attack on the students. The Janam news team, which came to report this, was also attacked.
Janam TV a nationistic channel had taken a strong stand against the commemoration of terrorist Afzal Guru by Leftist and Jihadi student bodies at JNU on February 9, 2016. Since then, Janam TV has been targeted by far-left jihadist forces in JNU.
Working Journalists of India came forward to protest the incident. The union demanded immediate arrest of the accused and an end to violence against the media in JNU.
