  1. The death toll is now 8 Indian soldiers dead. Salute to the 8 brave Indian warriors. Deepest condolences to their family and loved ones. However the deaths of 8 jawans is too many, especially since this was an operation that lasted 5 days. This was not a sudden ambush by the enemy. Pulwama, Uri, Pathankot and now Keran have seen high casualty rates among Indian troops. Kulgam was successful because the 4 dead terrorists were locked inside a house. No Indian troops died. There needs to be more training on stealth during combat patrols. The enemy must be detected and eliminated stealthily and silently. Considering the vast amounts of money spent on early warning and detection (drones, sensors, border fences, satellite imagery) the 8 casualties suffered is unforgivable. In comparison the terrorists have much less resources. How is it that they can create so much death and damage with such basic resources?

Retaliation is a must. The Indian Armed Forces must give an overwhelming response. It must be forceful and cause maximum damage. There is no need for airstrikes when India has Brahmos and other accurate missiles which can do the job precisely. Multiple terrorist targets must be taken out completely including the homes of the terrorist mentors. An Israeli style Operation Wrath of God must also be launched to hunt down and eliminate these terrorist mentors and their networks on a continuous basis.
