Following the recommendation of an expert committee, Kerala would start 4-year degree course and triple main courses which give prominence to research can be started in the state this academic year itself, indicate reports.
Also the possible courses that can be introduced here have been included in the report submitted to the government by the committee headed by MG University Vice Chancellor Dr Sabu Thomas.
New subject branches also should be included along with conventional subjects. Courses in new subjects which are not introduced in the state yet also are suggested in the report.
The courses can be started in the colleges which has NAAC ‘A’ grade or ranked below 100 in NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) ranking.
After the 4-year graduation, the PG course should be only one year. Then the students should be able to join research, the report recommended.
