Seems, like that of Pinarayi Vijayan led Kerala government, SupplyCo too is going through difficult times. A government of Kerala-owned company dedicated to food security in a substantive style in the state is already facing controversies regarding a huge scandal on its much-celebrated Onam kit which the intelligence department has found not ‘worthy’.
A report has emerged where worms were found inside a packet of atta bought from a ration shop in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. A consumer who bought atta from a ration shop six days ago opened the packet to find full of living worms in it. The packing date was mentioned as July 2, 2020.
Following the incident, Kochukuttan Unnithan, the consumer who had the bitter experience, has filed a complaint with the panchayat member and the taluk supply officer, reports said.
SupplyCo is providing 1 kg atta packets for Rs 17 from ration shops. Each family is entitled to 2 packets of atta per month.
