Kerala Opposition leader writes to Governor seeking probe against Speaker on corruption and extravaganza

Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala has written a letter to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan seeking a comprehensive probe against Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan.

The Congress leader said in the letter that Speaker is an epitome of corruption and extravaganza. Sreeramakrishnan has awarded contacts of crores of rupees violating norms in the Assembly to many companies including Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society Ltd, he alleged.

The corruption and extravaganza of the Speaker is evident in the contracts awarded relating to the Loka Kerala Sabha in 2017 and 2020, the e-Niyamasabha project of Rs 53 crore and the ‘Festival of Democracy’ programme during the time when state experienced flood, he further stated.
