Kerala native hospitalised with suspected corona symptoms dies in Ernakulam hospital

A Kerala native who returned from Malaysia recently and was admitted to Ernakulam medical college hospital with suspected coronavirus Covid-19 symptoms has died.

The 36-year-old man, who has been working in Malaysia, had landed at Cochin International Airport on Thursday midnight. He underwent screening after which he was admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital.

He was ailing from breathing difficulty and pneumonia. According to a report, he also suffered from Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), a serious diabetes complication where the body produces excess blood acids.

He had tested negative for coronavirus infection on Friday. However, the result of his second sample was expected from the virology institute in Alappuzha.
