When Venugopal, a resident of remote village Maniyoor in Kozhikode, called up Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday seeking advance delivery of 15 kgs of rice as announced by the Centre, he never expected it would happen. But to his surprise, his share of ration was delivered at his doorstep, thanks to the prompt intervention of the PMO.
Initially, he had approached the Taluk Supply Office but they refused to provide the ration in advance. He then contacted district officials, chief secretary of the state and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s office. But none came forward to help Venugopal who was putting up alone.
Hoping against hope he called up PMO. The officials at the PMO asked his details and told him to forward copies of representations he had sent to the Chief Minister’s Office. Within two hours, Venugopal got a call from the state governor’s office promising the delivery of rice. By evening 7 pm, the local ration shop owner delivered 15 kgs of rice at his house.
Venugopal thanked PMO for the favour.
