CPM state general secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan informed that the party concluded the Kasaragod district conference in the wake of the High Court order. On Friday, the High Court has issued an order banning all conferences attended by more than 50 people.
The CPM secretary added that this order will not be applicable for the district conference in Thrissur.
Following the HC order, the CPM has decided to conclude the district conference in Kasaragod on Friday itself. Meanwhile, the CPM district conference also began in Thrissur on Friday. CPM informed that the conference in Thrissur will be concluded by 5 pm on Saturday. The three-day-long conference has been curtailed into a two-day event in the wake of the COVID-19 spike.
At the same time, Kodiyeri informed that a decision on the Alappuzha district conference will be taken later. The district conference in Alappuzha was scheduled from January 28 to 30.
Reacting to the HC order, Kodiyeri stated that the court pronounced the judgement without hearing CPM’s opinion.
