The government issued an order to take action against the Popular Front of India (PFI). The order is based on the central notification banning the organization. Collectors and SPs have been assigned to take action.
The offices of the organisation will be locked and sealed today itself. Bank accounts will be frozen. The DGP will issue a detailed circular. The Union Home Ministry banned the Popular Front of India and eight affiliated organizations for five years yesterday. The action was followed by nationwide raids and arrests of leaders for alleged terrorist links.
The Union Home Ministry pointed in the ban order that the PFI and its feeder organizations pose a threat to the integrity, sovereignty and security of the country and have links with international terrorist groups. The action was taken after considering the recommendation of Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat governments.
