Through taking over Theerthapada Mandapam, Kerala government is now targeting the Padmanabha Swami Temple, said Former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan. He demanded the ‘secular government’ to answer why have they stopped devotees from worshipping at the Chattambi swami temple.
Kummanam Rajasekharan was speaking to media after visiting the ‘Theerthapada Mandapam’ seized by the government.
The government seized Theerthapada Mandapam near Padmanabha Swami Temple, which is headed by the Vidhyadhiraja Sabha. It was an intriguing action by the revenue officials and police who reached the spot in the night and sealed the hall.
Following the incident, devotees who protested against this move by the government were detained. The officials also installed a board that denied access to the government’s land.
The government’s wicked move has been executed while the case related to the land is still pending in the court. The daily puja activities of the temple inside the Theerthapada Mandapam has also come to an abrupt stop.
More policemen have been deployed in front of the mandapam to prevent the devotees from entering the temple.
The BJP and the Hindu organizations are readying for a strong protest against the government’s move. Meanwhile, Vidhyadhi Sabha has decided to approach the High Court against the government.
