Faisal Fareed and Rabins, main accused in the gold smuggling case, have been arrested in Dubai the NIA informed the court here on Tuesday.
In the report submitted before the court, NIA has pointed out that the duo are being interrogated. The probe team noted that strict action will be taken against them.
NIA revealed the arrest in an affidavit filed before the court opposing the bail plea of the accused. NIA also informed that a blue corner notice has been issued against six people through Interpol.
The blue corner notice was issued against Faisal Fareed, Rabins Hameed, Siddique Akbar, Ahammad Kutty, Ratheesh and Muhammad Shammer. NIA also observed that the six were engaged in activities which destroyed the diplomatic relations between two countries.
Muhammad Shafi and Ramees are the key conspirators of gold smuggling case. They conspired the crime in Dubai, reported NIA in the affidavit.
On the other day, the court had informed NIA that bail would have to be granted to the accused if the NIA team failed to produce evidence.
In the affidavit, NIA has detailed the involvement of each accused who filed the bail plea and demanded to reject the bail plea.
It is for the first time that the NIA has informed the court about action taken by Dubai as part of the investigation into the gold smuggling case.
