In Kerala, a critically ill COVID-19 patient was shifted to the hospital in a two-wheeler. The patient was taken by bike from the First-Line Treatment Center in Punnapra of Alappuzha district to the Medical College Hospital.
Eyewitnesses said there was no oxygen facility at the first-line treatment center and the patient was taken by bike as there was no ambulance due to shortness of breath. Vishnu, an eyewitness to the incident, told the media that there were no doctors here and that those who came for cleaning had taken the patient to the hospital in another patient’s vehicle wearing a PPE kit.
Following the news of the incident, the Collector directed the DMO to investigate the incident.
