Kerala BJP state president K Surendran said that it was discriminatory that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan did not go to Idukki’s Rajamala where many lives were lost due to the massive landslide.
In a statement, Surendran asked whether the Chief Minister was not visiting the plantation workers in Rajamala because the poor living were not vote bank?
If there is any humanity, the Chief Minister should go to comfort the plantation workers who have suffered a terrible tragedy, he demanded. Even in the matter of compensation, the government is showing double standard in the Karipur and Munnar tragedies.
“The death toll in Rajamala surged due to lack of medical facilities. As there was no electricity for many days, the mobile tower was also off. The government cannot escape this burden of sin,” Surendran said adding that the flood relief fund should be used for rehabilitation.
