Kerala BJP demands removal of Kamal from Chalachitra Academy

The BJP has demanded the removal of director Kamal from the post of Chalachitra Academy chairman.

Kamal tried to make permanent the appointment of Left-leaning temporary staff at Chalachitra Academy through backdoor appointments solely on the basis of politics. Kamal must be removed from the position. Government establishments are not meant to be handed over to Left activists, said BJP state general secretary P. Sudheer.

Kamal’s actions are unconstitutional. At the Chalachitra Academy, he is working for the welfare of the Left Front by wearing the mask of a cultural leader, added the BJP leader.

Allegiance to the Left Front can be maintained in offices of the Left party and inside the house of Kamal. But such actions should not be taken inside government establishments that are run using the tax money collected from the public, he said.

Sudheer also warned that the BJP will stage protests if Kamal is not removed from his post.

It must be noted that Chalachitra Academy chairman and Director Kamal had written to Minister AK Balan to make permanent four left-leaning temporary staff of the academy. The letter was released by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala during the Assembly session.
