Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who recently formed a full-fledged government, has set ambitious targets for his Cabinet colleagues, urging them to work towards winning at least 20 out of the total 28 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
After inducting 24 new ministers on Saturday, filling all 34 seats in his Cabinet, Siddaramaiah emphasized the significance of the upcoming national elections. He stated, “We should win at least 20 Lok Sabha constituencies as a gift to our party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi.”
In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s office, Siddaramaiah instructed the ministers to carry out their responsibilities with commitment, honesty, and agility, keeping the target in mind. He emphasized the need to avoid repeating past mistakes and ensure that the promises made by the government reach the people effectively.
Siddaramaiah assured the ministers that portfolio allocations would be completed soon and encouraged them to actively engage in their duties. He highlighted the rejection of BJP’s misrule by the people and emphasized the responsibility entrusted to the government by the unprecedented majority obtained in the elections. The Chief Minister urged the ministers to listen to the people’s problems, respond to them promptly, and work towards providing a pro-people administration that meets their expectations.
Furthermore, Siddaramaiah emphasized the importance of solving issues at the district and taluk levels to prevent people from facing unnecessary hassles. He encouraged ministers to travel extensively to their respective districts, maintain a strict vigilance on government officers, and fight against corruption.
