Petitions related to SNC-Lavalin case will be considered by a bench led by Justice N. V. Ramana, said the Supreme Court bench led by Justice U. U. Lalit on Monday.
The petitions in connection with the case will be considered by the bench headed by Justice N. V. Ramana from September 21 onwards, the bench led by Justice U. U. Lalit said.
The petitions, filed by CBI questioning the Kerala High Court verdict acquitting the accused, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and the petitions filed by the three accused, including Kasturi Ranga Iyer, against facing trial, was listed before the bench including Justices U. U. Lalit and Vineet Saran.
While considering the petitions, Justice Lalit pointed out that the matter had been considered by the bench led by Justice N. V. Ramana.
Appearing on behalf of Pinarayi Vijayan, senior advocate V. Giri said that none of the parties in the case were against the bench led by Justice U. U. Lalit hearing the petitions.
However, Justice U. U. Lalit said it was not right for his bench to consider the petition and directed the petition to be listed before the bench headed by Justice N. V. Ramana.
