Jammu and Kashmir: Pakistani troops violate ceasefire in Poonch

Pakistani troops violated ceasefire in the border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir which left one civilian injured.

According to Defence spokesperson, Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing along the line of control in Shahpur and Qasba sectors and civilian areas today at about 1600 hrs by firing of small arms and shelling with mortars.

Alert Indian troops retaliated immediately and started giving a befitting reply to Pakistani roaring guns. However, due to Pakistani firing, one civilian identified as Jamal Din got injured. He has been shifted to District Hospital Poonch. The intermittent exchange of fire between Indo -Pak troops was going on when reports last came in.
