In a shocking incident, an innocent child suffered a significant burn injury when Islamists threw acid on a Hindu family in Bangladesh. The 3-month old girl child, Surya Karmakar, along with her family members are undergoing treatment, said the report.  is a victim of acid terror in Bangladesh.

Islamists launched the attack in the night in Sukhanpukur Union, Gabtali, Bogra district. 3 people including children were burnt in the incident. They are currently admitted in the Sheikh Hasina Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

The injured have been identified as Dipali Karmakar (50), wife of Dulal Karmakar, Bina Roy (20), son’s wife of them and their grandson Surya Karmakar (3 Month). This incident took place On Friday, 06.05.2022. Further investigations are on.

There have been over 3,600 attacks in Bangladesh targeting Hindus since 2013. The Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council (BHBCUC), however, told the news agency the actual number of attacks could be much higher than what the ASK has estimated.

In Bangladesh, Hindus now comprise less than nine per cent of the total population. The census numbers have shown a marked reduction in the Hindu population over the past four decades, as per the report citing government data.
