It is okay if one doesn’t follow the custom, but the question appears to mock at a deity worshipped by millions since ancient times hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus across the world, says a devotee.
Looking at the sanctum sanctorum of one among the most revered Hindu temples, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, asked if it was there Lord Krishna resides!
The question that furiously insults Hindu culture and tradition has sparked fury among the millions of worshippers of Lord Krishna, especially of Guruvayurappan a form of Lord Krishna worshipped in the form of a kid.
Pinarayi Vijayan made his comment during his visit to Guruvayoor temple for the first time. The chief minister, who stood in front of the temple asked about the functioning of the temple but was not willing to follow any Hindu customs. The temple is managed by devaswam board which comes under the government of Kerala.
“It is okay if one doesn’t follow the custom, but the question that appears to mock at the idol worshipped by millions since ancient times hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus across the world”, responded a devotee who slammed the statement made by Kerala’s communist CM.
The chief minister visited Guruvayur town for laying the foundation stone of the new building of the temple police station near the Guruvayur temple.
Earlier Prime Minister Modi had visited the temple after his winning of second time and had also made a special offering here. President Konvind who visited here with family also sought blessings from the nearby Mammiyur temple which is closely connected to Guruvayur temple.
