When the social media mill is churning out tonnes of trolls, the creative brains are working overtime, for sure. We are only entering Day # 4! Slowly but surely the sense of humour can die down, sense of horror can seep in. Beware.
The world needs all those creative brains. For sure. We need to make sure that the time spent at home is spent well. The nation needs to gear up to face the unknown. The future can hold anything for you and for me.
We need to believe that it is going to be better than never before after the 21 days, for us Indians. We need to believe that the government and the Administration will certainly succeed. The economy is going to be alive and kicking. New and vibrant Bharat is about to emerge. Our collective efforts are needed and we will win!
There is no doubt that this little virus has taken away almost everything from us, leaving just time and technology with us. Let us use it for our common advantage. Innovate and we will create a better space for ourselves and for the coming generations.
Who knows, there can be a behavioural change in our society. Maybe, the famed “Big, Fat, Indian Weddings” will be a thing of the past! The work-from-home culture can continue even after the curbs are withdrawn. The time we spend with family can be a habit. Getting goods delivered at home can come in handy. The friendly neighbourhood shops that thrived few decades back can be back with a spring in the feet of those “Papa-Mommy” team. Wild parties may vanish… many good things may come back to our lives…
Wake up…
Now put that cap on and think! Think to innovate. For that dreams to come true, we have to collaborate and work. There is no running away from technology. Let us put it to good use. Design a low-cost ventilator – not just for the one who will get a severe attack from that virus, but for anyone who will need it. Create a life saver machine to be made at an affordable cost. Throw that IPR out of the window. Just like the ancient knowledge which was available for any seeker, place it in the open source. May the seeker find and use it. Let it be used to help another human being.
Create useful software for all to use, design gadgets – let the world use it. Be proud of what you have contributed and see it spread worldwide right in front of your eyes! Let everyone have a copyright – a right to copy! The evil of capitalism and socialism is not what we want. We need the humanism now. The gift that was bestowed on you is for that last man standing in the queue. Reach out to him.
Today, when we are given an opportunity to sit down and think, let us think for the betterment of the humans. Till now we have been taught to look at the world in a manner that is divisive. We forgot our roots which taught us vasudhaiva kudumbakam — world is one family and the prayer, Loka samasta sukhino bhavanthu for the well-being of the whole world. There are no chosen people and no promised land. There is no preferred way to God. If you find God in yourself, then we do not need any IPR or Copyright to gain material wealth or attain salvation!
This Three Weeks which was gifted to us should be utilised effectively and productively. There is no space for gloom or glee. This is a “vipasana” period for all of us. Let us use this to invoke the profound knowledge which is available within and without us and use it to make the world a better place to live – now and forever!
Let us not look at regimes who let loose those dreaded virus on us for exercising power over others or for whatever the reason. We have to overcome and that we certainly will. The means that we use should be such that we overpower them with our intellect. Unbolt that Brainbox of yours and unleash that latent and potent power of ingenuity.
