India is awaiting clearance from the Chinese side to send an aircraft to evacuate its nationals from novel coronavirus-hit Wuhan and deliver a consignment of medical supplies to the neighbouring country.
External Affairs Ministry Spokesman, Raveesh Kumar told media in New Delhi yesterday that the aircraft will evacuate about 100 Indians. He said, medial supplies is a small way to express support to China as it continues to fight against Novel Coronavirus epidemic.
Mr. Kumar said, on its return journey, the aircraft will bring in Indian nationals who could not board the first two flights. Those interested to come back have been asked to contact the Indian Embassy. The Spokesperson added that the advisories regarding travel to and from China remain in place, but there is no ban on travel. Earlier, India’s national carrier Air India earlier evacuated over 640 Indians from Wuhan in two separate flights.
