India has dismissed Pakistan raising Kashmir issue in different International fora as mere propaganda. New Delhi said the military rule is the tradition of Islamabad whereas such a rule is unknown in India.
During the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference at Kampala in Uganda, the Pakistani Parliamentary delegation raked up the issue of Kashmir, alleging that Indian military forces had seized Kashmir.
The Pakistani propaganda was strongly opposed by MP Roopa Ganguly and other Members of the Indian delegation, who said that the tradition of military rule is prevalent in Pakistan and that the country had been under army rule for 33 years.
The Indian delegation included MPs Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and L Hanumanthaiah, is led by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
Earlier this month, Pakistan had raised the Kashmir issue too during the South Asian Speakers’ Summit in the Maldives. But, it was rejected in the Male declaration after India’s strong opposition.
