India and China are scheduled for the sixth round of military commander-level talks today at 9 am in a bid to defuse tension along the border in Eastern Ladakh.
The Corps Commander-level meeting will be held at Moldo on the Chinese side of the LAC near eastern Ladakh. For the first time, a government representative will be a part of the meeting which can be seen as a pressure to China.
The Indian side will be led by Lt Gen Harinder Singh of the14 Corps while the Chinese will be represented by PLA Major Gen Lin Liu. Other members of the Indian delegation will include the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Joint Secretary Navin Srivastava as well as Major Gen Abhijeet Bapat and Maj Gen Padam Shekhawat.
“In the talks, India will insist on complete disengagement of Chinese troops from the friction points at the earliest,” PTI quoted a source as saying.
