If you don’t do this after sexual intercourse, you are going to suffer!

It is a common tendency among couples that soon after sexual intercourse, they fall asleep without even thinking about the serious repercussions of not following personal hygiene. According to Gynecologists, it is very important to urinate after sexual intercourse, especially in women.

Gynaecologists say that women and men need to be very careful to keep their genitals clean after sex. Most infections occur after sexual intercourse.

Because the urethra in women is smaller than in men, bacteria can easily enter and cause urinary tract infections (UTI). Urination after sexual intercourse helps to expel bacteria from the urinary tract, which will help prevent infection.

This is applicable even after urinating. The vagina should be washed thoroughly with plain clean water without using chemical soap. Vaginal infections can cause physical fatigue, insomnia, foul smell, and headaches. UTIs are more likely to occur if germs enter the urethra during sex.

Women are more likely than men to have UTIs. In women, the urethra is smaller and closer to the anus than in men. This makes it easier for germs to reach the bladder. One should try to urinate within 30 minutes after sex. Doctors also say that the longer you wait, the more likely it is for a bacterial infection.

These tips for personal hygiene is important for men too. As infections because of bacteria and yeasts are common in the vagina, cleaning the genitals after intercourse will safeguard from transmitting the infections.
