In Himachal Pradesh in view of the sharp rise of COVID-19 cases, the state government has intensified COVID-19 testing for all residents arriving from various parts of the country. So far, the number of active cases in the State has gone up to 90. Hamirpur district recorded the highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases with 31 fresh cases during the last 24 hours.
In the wake of continued surge in coronavirus cases more than 1000 tests are being carried out every day in the state. Doctors and paramedical staff has also been increased in view of the growing number of positive cases. Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said people need not to panic as all individuals tested positive for COVID-19 will be sent to their home only after their proper medical treatment. He urged the residents arriving from outside the state not to go home until they get investigated for COVID-19 test. They will be sent for home isolation only if found negative.
Meanwhile, 31 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported from Hamirpur district in a single day, taking the active number of cases in the district to 41. Kangra stands second with 28 active cases. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state are 152, so far.
