Haryana Police, in a joint operation with National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Punjab Police, has arrested three persons including two from Punjab’s most-wanted list and one accused from Begu village in Sirsa district of Haryana.
Giving this information at Chandigarh today, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Dr Arun Singh said that arrested accused have been identified as Ranjit Singh, his brother Gagandeep, both residents of Punjab and Gurmeet Singh of Sirsa. Police has also recovered 1.2 kg poppy husk from Gurmeet Singh.
Both Ranjit Singh and his brother Gagandeep were arrested in connection with a case registered at Amritsar regarding recovery of 532 kg heroin, being investigated by NIA and another case registered for financial aid to terrorist organizations.
It has also been revealed that the two accused have links with the Hizbul Mujahideen and are involved in terror funding. 10 criminal cases were also registered against them in Punjab.
