In Gujarat, all the ministers will donate one month’s salary to CM relief fund for the fight against coronavirus. Briefing the media on the decisions taken by CM Task Force today, Chief Secretary of the state Anil Mukim said the decision was taken as a goodwill gesture to express their solidarity with the people of the state in their fight against coronavirus (COVID-19). He appealed people, NGOs to come forward to contribute towards the fight against coronavirus.
Mr Mukim said the OPD services shall remain open in all the government hospitals in the state. He added that the state government has completed surveillance tracking of around 30 lakhs people from the areas where positive cases have been found. He said the whole population of the state will be covered in the coming two weeks. The state government has assured citizens that there won’t be a shortage of essential commodities.
Mr Mukim informed media that the total number of positive cases in the state went to 35 today. Both the cases were reported in Rajkot today. AIR Correspondent reports that 13 positive cases recorded in Ahmedabad which is highest in the state followed by Vadodara, Surat, and Gandhinagar with 6 cases each. Rajkot and Kutch reported 3 and one cases each.
Meanwhile, about 238 offenses have been registered in the state for violating rules. Total 127 cases were also registered against people breaking home quarantine. Around 426 persons have been arrested in the state in this regard.
