Actor Nayanthara — who is playing the role of goddess in RJ Balaji film Mookuthi Amman — is a spiritually changed person. According to a source close to the production house, Nayanthara believes this role has happened because of her good luck. She has become a vegetarian for the last two months ever since the photoshoot of the film. “Acting in a saami padam (devotional film) is a big responsibility. She has mentally made up her mind ever since she adored the amman’s attire. She will earn a place in the minds of millions of people,” said the person quoted above.
On her vegetarian diet and other routine, the source said: “Nayanthara has started fasting. She has turned vegetarian for some time. The Covid pandemic has interrupted the progress of the film.”
The film has aroused huge hopes among Nayanthara’s fans and general public. She is one of the highest paid and popular film actors in the South.
Some time ago, talking to Times of India, RJ Balaji said: “This will be a 100% saami padam. It’s not a satire on the genre. It will have all the elements that were there in the devotional films that we grew up watching. It will be a nostalgic trip, but there will also be a takeaway that is relevant, especially in these present times.”
