Following the strict warning from the High Court, the Kerala government has hastened moves to confiscate the properties of leaders of the banned outfit Popular Front of India on the damage of public property caused by the PFI workers on the flash Hartal announced against the raid conducted by the national investigation agency.
Earlier, the high court reprimanded the government for adopting a tepid attitude when acting against the PFI workers. A deadline of two days was given to the government to complete the whole process of seizing properties. After the dress down for the high court, the government approached the court to apologize for the inaction.
So far the government has seized the house and property of PFI general secretary Abdul Sathar from Karunagapally. The House and properties of five leaders in Thrissur have also been seized. The collectors in various districts have charted the list of properties that fall under the leaders of the banned outfit.
According to reports, the actions will continue.
