Election Commission today condemned AAP Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s promise to construct mohalla clinics in court premises and warned him to be more careful and exercise caution in future while making public utterances.
Mr Kejriwal had given the statement when model code of conduct is in force in the city for Assembly polls.
The Election Commission said, the spirit of Model Code of Conduct requires public servant including Ministers to ensure the sanctity of electoral process, not to make a statement that disturbs the level playing field.
Meanwhile the Commission condemned BJP MP Parvesh Verma for remarks against Mr Kejriwal and imposed a 24 hour campaign ban on him. Mr Verma can not hold any public meetings, public processions, public rallies, roadshows and interviews during this period. He was earlier banned for 96 hours as well.
