Detention of J&K politicians in national interest: RSS

The three-day Samanwyaya meet of the Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has endorsed the Narendra Modi government’s action of nullifying the Article 370 of the Indian Constitution that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was held at Pushkar, Rajasthan.

Talking to presspersons, RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale said the whole country is elated by this move. There is a need for development in this area. The Sangh and affiliated organisations have been raising the demand for “one nation, one constitution and one flag’ for several decades. “The service activities undertaken by the Sangh in Kashmir and Laddakh have strengthened the nationalist feelings. Some politicians in Kashmir were detained. The government has taken this decision on the basis of facts and evidence in the national interest,” he said.

The meet decided to give a major thrust to social and environmental activities in the country. The meeting was attended by 195 representatives of 36 RSS-inspired organisations. The meet is being organised to share ideas and experiences of organisations working in different areas.
