Delhi government will provide financial assistance worth 5,000 rupees each to all auto-rickshaw, Gramin-sewa, E-rickshaw and taxi drivers in wake of difficulties faced by them amid lockdown situations. The amount will be transferred into their bank account.
This was stated by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during a digital press conference in national capital today. Mr Kejriwal said, the process may take 7-10 days as government do not have bank account numbers of all the drivers. He said, proper planning for this is being done.
Talking about Corona cases in the capital, he said, out of 2346 people evacuated from Markaz Nizamuddin, 1810 have been quarantined and 536 people admitted to city hospitals. Mr Kejriwal said, simultaneous testing of all 2346 individuals is being done and due to this, data of infected persons in the city may shoot up in next 1 to 2 days.
He said, till now, there are 219 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the city, including 108 from Markaz Nizamuddin. He said, city has seen 4 deaths of infected, including 2 from Markaz.
