Non-believer, non-Hindu feminist activist Rahana Fathima, who came to Sabarimala in police uniform escorted by 100 personnel, in a previous Facebook post states that CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Nambiar’s son Bineesh Kodiyeri is her ‘favourite comrade’ who always extends support to her. Rahana had participated in the ‘Kiss of Love’ event in Kerala.
Fathima came to Sabarimala with “used sanitary napkins” in her irumudi, which all devotees are supposed to carry on their pilgrimage. Reports suggest that she wanted to offer the used napkin to the deity.
Fathima posted a picture of her posing with Bineesh Kodiyeri. “He is my soul comrade (changu sakhavu),” she writes.
Although Devaswom minister Kadakampalli Surendran criticized the action of Rahana and Christian activist-cum-journalist Kavitha Koshy for “turning Sabarimala into a arena of activism”, Bineesh’s father has publicly censured the minister. Observers say his son’s links with Rahana forced him to snub the minister.
Meanwhile, in a voice clip broadcast by Janam TV, Rahana said controversial cop Manoj Abraham and District collector PB Nooh promised all their support to enter Sabarimala.
Bineesh Kodiyeri was in news for all reasons, including a Rs 13-crore forgery case filed by a UAE national.
