CPI(M)-controlled temple panel removes Vedic school, runs non-veg restaurant that serves beef items

The CPI(M)-controlled executive committee of the Travancore Devaswom Board has turned a building which was used to run a Veda school into a non-vegetarian restaurant.

The menu of the restaurant, situated within a stone’s throw of Raja Rajeshwari temple near the Devaswom Board’s headquarters, has beef fry as the main attraction.

The decision to dismantle the religious school was taken after the new president took charge. The action has invited the wrath of devotees and Hindu organisations. The incident has triggered an unprecedented outrage in the social media. A post on the incident on Twitter by @Ex-comrade triggered outrage with hundreds of people retweeting from various Twitter handles.
