Kerala records highest single-day jump of 488 cases of COVID-19 while 234 infected through contact in the last 24 hours. 167 people arrived from abroad and 76 from other states. 570 people taken into hospital today. Also two deaths were reported in the state today due to virus infection.
Cases of coronavirus have been confirmed to five health workers including a doctor in Cherthala Taluk Hospital. Among the five infected, two are nurses. Earlier, a pregnant woman was diagnosed with the coronavirus who had sought treatment at the Taluk Hospital.
More health workers are likely to be diagnosed with the disease. Therefore, the municipal chairman has asked the district administration to close the Taluk Hospital.
