While Kerala is witnessing a massive surge in the COVID-19 cases, the mayor of the capital city of Kerala has come up with a controversial Facebook post which was deleted following criticism. Though, following controversy the post was deleted, screenshots are widely being circulated on the internet.
Sharing the pictures of the inauguration of the new gas cemetery at the Thycaud Peace Gate in the city, CPM mayor Arya Rajendran said that in the wake of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, a cemetery is ready where electricity, firewood, and gas could be used to cremate bodies.
The modern gas cemetery, which was completed on a wartime basis at the Thycaud Peace Gate, started functioning from yesterday amidst the spread of COVID-19 in the country. At present, the cemetery has electricity, gas and firewood for burial, ”the mayor shared in a post.
