Coronavirus: India reports 33 deaths in last 24 hours

Health Ministry on Friday informed that in the span of 24 hours, there was an increase in the number of coronavirus cases with 678 positive ones.

“With a surge of 678 cases, the number of COVID-19 patients reached 6,412 and 199 deaths, in total, have been reported. 33 deaths occurred in the last single day,” Joint Secretary, Lav Aggarwal said.

Talking about Personal Protection Equipments (PPEs0 for the frontline warriors, he said,” There are 39 manufacturers of PPE in the country today and we have doubled state-level availability of PPEs. In thelast 2 months, we have provided an additional 20 lakh masks to states and 49,000 ventilators are being purchased.”

“There will also be no shortage of N95 masks in the coming days. We want to assure the frontline workers that the government is taking all the required action which are needed,” he added.
