In a recent development, further evidence has emerged highlighting the questionable actions taken by former SFI leader K. Vidya during her PhD admission at Kaladi University. Asianer News has obtained the minutes of a crucial meeting wherein the research committee allegedly disregarded the rules and included Vidya’s name as the fifteenth candidate. Shockingly, the minutes reveal that the reservation policy was not followed when Vidya and four others were inducted, raising concerns of favoritism. The records pertain to a meeting held on December 16, 2019.
Adding to the mounting controversy, the Malayalam department of Kaladi University has voiced its opposition to Vidya’s PhD admission and demanded an inquiry into the matter. There are allegations that Vidya secured admission for research by bypassing the reservation policy. It has also been revealed that Vidya began her PhD as a regular student in 2020 but subsequently switched to part-time. Bichu X Malail, Vidya’s guide, expressed disapproval, stating that Vidya did not receive both the PhD stipend and her college salary simultaneously. Malail further condemned Vidya’s actions, terming them highly inappropriate. The guide also emphasized that she relinquished her role to dispel any notion that teachers would protect students engaged in such misconduct.
This revelation has sparked outrage within the academic community and raised concerns about the integrity of the admissions process at Kaladi University. Calls for a thorough investigation into Vidya’s case are growing louder, as the alleged violation of reservation policies and irregularities in the PhD program have cast a shadow over the institution’s reputation. The university administration is now faced with the task of addressing these serious allegations and ensuring transparency and fairness in future admissions.
