The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, ESIC has enhanced the confinement expenses from five thousand to seven thousand 500 rupees for pregnant women who are not able to avail maternity services of ESIC dispensaries.
The decision was taken by ESIC during its 181st meeting held yesterday in New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Labour and Employment Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar.
The Ministry said, the existing amount of confinement expenses has been increased in view of the rise in the cost of living index resulting increase in expenditure related to confinement.
In a statement, the Ministry said, it has also approved the operationalization of Economically Weaker Section quota and admissions to ESIC Medical Institutions from Academic year 2020-21.
