A first-year post-graduate student at University College was brutally beaten by a group led by SFI unit leaders after he refused to donate blood. The victim, a native of Attingal and a first-year Arabic student, was attacked on Tuesday afternoon.
According to sources, the SFI activists requested the student to donate blood to a patient. However, he declined, citing health concerns. The activists then instructed him to convey his decision to the SFI unit leaders in their office. When he refused to comply with their demand, he was mercilessly beaten.
The victim sustained severe injuries and was immediately taken to the General Hospital. However, his parents did not file a complaint against the perpetrators due to threats from the SFI leaders. They were also apprehensive that the case might adversely affect their son’s future studies.
The victim had completed his graduation from a college in Hyderabad before enrolling in the post-graduate course at University College.
