China seems to have blocked the official website of Prime Minister Narendra Modi even though it allows the official website of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Opindia reports.
China has tough rules regarding allowing access to content on the internet to the people. Its watchdog heavily regulates and censors domestic internet usage and actively blocks any websites or links that are seen as going against the narrative of the communist party or perceived interest of the nation. The combination of all such regulatory or technological censorship is often termed The Great Firewall of China, the report says.
The website conducted a test on the official website of Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi and found that while Rahul Gandhi’s website was ‘passed’ by the Great Firewall of China, Narendra Modi’s website was shown blocked.
Indus Scrolls has reported the close ties between the Congress and the Communist Party of China. On August 7, 2008, then Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi signed a rare and crucial memorandum of understanding with Chinese Communist Party “promote exchanges at various levels”. Rahul Gandhi had signed the MoU with Wang Jia Rui, Minister in the international department of the CPC in the presence of Sonia Gandhi and then Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Congress leader Anand Sharma was also part of the Indian delegation.
