It’s really very tough time for a teacher who is a parent too, especially if you are very much within some 40 years and it’s likely your elder child would be within some 10 or 11 years and if you have younger ones they would be much smaller kids. The thing is though your kids been managing by themselves or with small guidance from parents, now it’s like the entire study hours you have to be with them with the online teaching-learning going on.
Can’t just pass away the responsibility you have, as far we need to well care of both the small ones’ little brains and their health too. Now moving on to the bigger responsibility you owe towards society and your students. The teachers have to keep their students too well equipped during these great crises, taking all lessons to them in the best possible way using the very different online platforms.
Now I do remember our techies who have to remain full day long in front of the gadgets and now I understand how the end of the day could be. The question that quivers my mind is, is the end result of the attempts we choose. Are my kids, my students benefited out of all these or how to make things even more promising, are we still able to be the good facilitators for them, because they are tomorrow’s leaders.
Now a bit towards the critics , who often say what job do the teachers exactly do. And how easy is their job when compared to other professions . The long vacations they enjoy and the many number of other holidays. I have personally heard many sigh back , ” Oh ! I should also could have been a teacher.,same like you .” But it’s not for the admiration of the profession or for the teacher in me they have discovered, but instead of the thought it’s one of the most relaxed profession, and are paid too so heavy for the little work they do.
But let me tell things abrupt, without hurting the beliefs of some. Each professional is made by atleast one teacher in his or her life, and it could take a long survey right from the kindergarten to the specialisation the person is indeed trained for.
Things don’t mean like need to pour in so much of respect, or neither it awaits a thanksgiving, but do expect to shackle all the beliefs, which are so easily taken for granted if you need an easy-going job go in for teaching. Understand in deep, a teacher’s job is one that carries a lot of homework, demands uncompromising dedication and what not more. For they clearly know, the future of the Nation lies in their hands to carve the better human beings, the real leaders of tomorrow.
In loving respect to all teachers who taught me.
