Minister VN Vasavan told the assembly that an all-party meeting will be convened to discuss legal action against the central government’s encroachment on the cooperative sector.
The minister was responding to a discussion on an unofficial resolution moved by KK Shailaja asking the Center to back down from its move to enter the cooperative sector.
Though the government agreed with the content, it rejected the resolution as it was decided to call an all-party meeting.
Shailaja said that the central government was trying to bring the agricultural sector in Kerala under its control by intervening in the cooperative sector. V Joy, who supported the resolution, said that the Centre was eyeing Rs 2 lakh crore in cooperative banks in Kerala.
